The present article is all about waste management. It talks about what it is and how it is helpful in protecting the environment.

Waste management is a very important element of environment protection. Its primary purpose is to provide a completely hygienic, efficient and economic solid waste storage, transportation, treatment and disposal of waste without contaminating the environment like atmosphere, soil or water any way.

Waste is generated by the human activities. For instance when raw materials are processed and extracted, a lot of waste is generated. With the help of waste management adverse effects of the waste on human health, environment, planetary resources and aesthetics can be done away with. There are different types of waste generated that can wreak a complete havoc on environment.

Whether it is waste generated by industries, agriculture or any other hazardous material, if it is not disposed properly it can lead to disaster. Waste processing company can prevent this environmental disaster.

Proper management of waste is very important for building sustainable cities. However, managing and processing waste has been a challenge for the developing cities and countries. According to the report released, waste management can prove to be really expensive. It costs about 20%-50% of the municipal budgets. An integrated system is required which is efficient, sustainable and can be supported by the society at large. A large portion of the waste management system deals with the processing of household, industrial and commercial wastes.

Measures of the waste management include the measures for the integrated techno-economic mechanisms of the circular economy and the effective disposal facilities and control.

The primary purpose of waste management is waste characterization where in a waste steam analysis is done that involves a complete logical and systematic approach for obtaining and analyzing data wither on waste steams or sub streams. Whether it is processing farm waste or processing industrial waste materials, with the help of waste characterization an estimate of the solid waste quality and composition can be gauged. Two commonly used method of waste characterization are site-specific study and material flow approach.

Waste management is simply a well-planned system which is aimed at controlling the production, collection and transportation of solid waste. It is a very important element of protecting the environment. Primary purpose of the waste management is to provide a hygienic, efficient and solid waste storage, collection, transportation and treatment. It also means a safe disposal of waste without harming the environment in any way. The various steps involved in the management of the solid waste from generation to the point of sanitary disposal is known as solid waste chain. Solid waste chain is the path traced by the solid waste right from the generation to the disposal point.

Gardening with biochar also cuts down the greenhouse gas emission. Biochar is a fine-grained charcoal which when mixed with the garden soil replenishes its nutrients and retains its moisture.
